What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They allow the site to remember information about your visit — like whether you are logged in — so you do not have to re-enter it every time.

BizPlay also uses localStorage, which works similarly to cookies but is stored entirely on your device and is never sent to our servers. The table below clarifies exactly what we use and why.

BizPlay does not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or any third-party analytics scripts. The only cookies we set are essential for authentication.

Essential Cookies

These cookies are required for BizPlay to function. You cannot opt out of them without losing the ability to use the service.

Firebase Authentication session token — set by Google Firebase when you sign in with Google. It keeps your session active so you remain logged in. The cookie expires when you sign out or after a period of inactivity. This cookie is classified as strictly necessary under GDPR and ePrivacy regulations
__session — used by Firebase Hosting to identify your session. No personal data beyond your auth state is contained in this cookie

Preference Storage (localStorage)

BizPlay stores the following items in your browser's localStorage. These are never transmitted to our servers — they exist only on your device.

biz-theme — your chosen colour theme (light). Dark mode is currently disabled
biz-accent — your chosen accent colour (blue, purple, green, pink, or orange)
biz-accent-custom — your custom hex colour if you have set one
biz-card-size — your preferred game card display size
biz-ai-primary-key, biz-ai-fallback-key, biz-ai-fallback2-key — your personal Groq AI API keys if configured in Settings (Admin only)

Third-Party Cookies (Embedded Games)

Games on BizPlay are embedded from providers such as GameDistribution, GamePix, and Playgama. These providers may set their own cookies within the game iframe for purposes such as:

Remembering your in-game progress or settings
Frequency capping of in-game advertisements
Analytics about game sessions (e.g. how long a game was played)

BizPlay has no control over and no visibility into cookies set inside game iframes. Each game publisher's cookie practices are governed by their own policies. You can block third-party iframe cookies in your browser settings.

Cloudflare & Hosting

BizPlay is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. When you visit the site, Cloudflare may set its own cookies for security and performance purposes, including:

__cf_bm — bot management cookie used to protect against automated traffic. Expires after 30 minutes
Standard server-side access logs (IP, user-agent, timestamp) are retained by Cloudflare per their own data retention policy

Managing Your Cookies

You have full control over cookies and localStorage in your browser. Here is how to manage them:

BizPlay localStorage preferences — visit your browser's Developer Tools (F12 → Application → Local Storage → bizplay.lol) to inspect or delete individual items
Firebase auth session — sign out of BizPlay to clear your session cookie
All BizPlay cookies and storage — use your browser's "Clear browsing data" feature and select Cookies and Site Data for bizplay.lol
Third-party game cookies — most modern browsers let you block third-party cookies. In Chrome: Settings → Privacy → Cookies → Block third-party cookies. In Firefox: Preferences → Privacy → Enhanced Tracking Protection → Strict

Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in. Blocking localStorage will reset your visual preferences on every visit. Blocking third-party cookies may affect in-game progress for some games.
